So I'm a couple days late, but I am linking up with Farley from Oh Boy 4th Grade for June's Currently.
Listening: My poor husband has horrible allergies from April through June. I'm not sure what he's allergic to, but my goodness the poor man suffers every year! He has tried all the different allergy meds, allergy shots, all the different home remedies---nothing works!! Hopefully he's coming to the end of his allergy season though :/
Loving: So I go through phases of what I watch. Lately here, it's been a lot of HGTV with home renovations. I would love to completely gut our house and re-do everything! A girl can dream, right?!?!
Thinking: Ok, so I have to have surgery Thursday. You will not believe this story!! I went this past Thursday for my yearly gyno appointment. I had an IUD put in last May, and I asked my doctor to check and make sure it was still there (not because I had any pain or discomfort, but because I'm a paranoid person). She checked and couldn't feel the strings--I was sent for an ultrasound, and there was no IUD to be found. I had to then take a pregnancy test (OH MY!) before being sent to have an x-ray. The pregnancy test was negative, and the x-ray place was backed up so they could not read my x-ray while I was there. So Friday (the next day), I play phone tag with my gyno (we had field day all day and I didn't have service or my phone with me when she called). Finally when we made contact, she proceeds to tell me that the IUD has been found within my pelvic region. So, we had to schedule the surgery for this Thursday. My kiddos are in school until June 11th. So I will miss Thursday-Wednesday. I am able to go back on Thursday the 11th, which is only a 1/2 day with the kiddos. It's kind of bittersweet, I'll get to be home with my own children 'taking it easy' (yea right with 4 kids!) while they are on their summer break, but I'm missing those last few days with my classroom kiddos! Anyway, say a little prayer for me on Thursday :)
Wanting: Guilty pleasure--guacamole/salsa mix from Target. I normally make my own salsa and guac, however, I just haven't had time with my kiddos sporting events and all the running around we have been doing. So I have started to eat this goodness that I think Archer Farms makes---it is calling my name right now!!!
Needing: So I have been so spoiled with my Keurig coffee makers. I have one at home and one in my classroom. Well the one I have at home has completely died! I have you-tubed how to fix it, tried everything--cleaned the filter, turn it upside down, run vinegar through it---NOTHING HAS WORKED! So for the past few days I have been drinking instant coffee---it does the trick but it doesn't compare to my K-CUPS I'm used to! My momma asked me if I want a new coffee machine for my birthday on June 13th! So maybe I'll get one then :)
Summer Lovin: I am looking forward to this summer for 4 reasons. They are my children. I didn't finish college at the traditional age. Instead, I was a single mom with my oldest son, until I met my husband, and then we had 2 more kiddos. He encouraged me to go back to college and finish my dream of becoming a teacher. I have worked every summer, even since I have become a teacher for the past 2 summers. This summer I am attending a few workshops, but I am not teaching summer school like I have done before. I have day trips, and crafts planned. They are excited, and I just can't wait!!
Make sure to head over to Farley's page and check out what's currently going on with the other fabulous teacher bloggers!
Take care!

I love HGTV! I don't watch TV very often (no time) but if I get sucked into watching HGTV, I can watch it mindlessly for hours and hours. I love all of the renovation shows but House Hunters is my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your surgery! I'm going to have to go pick up some of that Salsa/Guac dip! That sounds delicious. Have a great summer!!
